What's My Style? Farmhouse + Tips & Tricks

Hello hello!

Thank you so much for joining me! I am so grateful. Lets dive right in.

Before decorating anything its important to discover your style. Today we are learning about Farmhouse. Is it your style? Heck, what is it?

Farmhouse is described as inviting, causal and cozy. The elements you'll see in Farmhouse style are rustic pieces, slipcovers, neutral colors, wood, burlap, greenery, etc.. Now I'm not saying you must have those things but usually it will include a few of these pieces. If you frequent HGTV like many of us you probably have seen Farmhouse many times watching Joanna and Chip Gaines.

Farmhouse can also be modern and rustic but for now we will stick with the basics.

You can also love pieces that are Farmhouse but not love the idea of a Farmhouse home. Your style can be as unique as you like. Below I'll include a few ways to include this style in your home.

1. Baskets! Incorporating baskets in your space gives you the exposed storage option that farmhouse has. Woven baskets are a consistent theme across farmhouse style. The texture and the color fit the theme so well. Definietly an inexpesive addtion.

2. Slipcovers. Slipcovers can be placed on sofas, chairs or ottomans. I suggest using a neutral color to achieve the Farmhouse style. Another inexpensive addition to add Farmhouse style to your space.

3. Gallery Wall. Adding a gallery wall will make you one step closer to having Farmhouse style home. Let's explore this further. Farmhouse gallery wall doesn't just include anything. Some elements your gallery wall should include are wood, galvanized signs or letters, photos, different textured frames etc. You don't need every single item in your wall but its nice to have some guide lines.

The wall can be as big or small as you want it to be. It can be located where ever you want it located, dining, entry or living room. The overlook look usually lacks pattern and symmetry so you can incorporate any pieces you like. Move them around until they are perfect.

Thats all I have for you today! I hope you learn something. Comment below, is this your style? Have any Farmhouse elements in your home? Let me know below!

Thank you for joining me again! See you next week!
